VisitEngland 5 Star Touring & Camping Park Somerset.png

We're the only 5* Touring and Camping park in South Somerset thanks to our VisitEngland assessment for 2021/2022. Our five star touring park grading represents our extensive upgrades and improvements across the caravan site, including the installation of fully serviced pitches and new additions to our shower block.

Inspections carried out by VisitEngland are unannounced assessments, without prior warning that inspectors will show up. This means that the VisitEngland inspectors are able to give a true reflection of day-to-day goings on. We're assessed across 54 different categories in order to obtain our five star touring park grading!

Adult Only Caravan Park Somerset 4 Pennants Gold.gif

For the second year in a row, our annual The AA inspection brought great news, where we were awarded a Gold Award on top of our 4 pennants. The AA's Four Gold Pennants are a significant award for us, as they're only awarded to the top small caravan and camping sites in the UK.

The AA's assessments are also without prior announcements, so all inspections are a fair representation of how our caravan park looks every day. The AA award caravan park pennants based on park size, so our four pennants are reflective of our small park and the Gold Award represents the best of the best in the small parks category.

Our five star facilities are rated by VisitEngland to ensure the highest quality for your touring and camping holiday! Our touring and camping park features:

Rainfall showers - Fully serviced touring pitches - 16 amp electric hook-up on every pitch included in the cost of your stay - Online reception facilities for 24 hour access with information on Somerset, Dorset and the West Country - On site deliveries from top quality food providers - Picnic tables - Complimentary WiFi on site - Help with your holiday plans

This is a gem of a site. The site and its facilities are spotless. The site is secure at night with gated entrance etc. Access to the site is easy and straight forward. Pitches are level and our motorhome required no levelling blocks etc.

The site is within easy reach of Haynes Motor Museum and the Fleet Air Arm Museum. A lovely site with very friendly owners. I do no not usually give reviews but on this occasion feel entirely justified in giving this site very positive feedback. Will we return,of course we will asap. One of the best sites we have visited.

Quiet, friendly site. We stayed for the jubilee with my partner and friends, loved the site it’s small and very well maintained. Love the fact it was adult only and everyone we met there was so friendly. Alan the owner and his wife were very helpful and made us feel welcome, the email they send you to advise you of your pitch was so informative and gave plenty of information as to where we could go, what activities were going on - I was so impressed they provide a 5 star experience and run an excellent site.

We will return in the near future. The villages, walks and locals were all friendly and they made a fantastic effort to celebrate the queens jubilee - the beacon lighting was fantastic and well worth the 2 1/2 Mile walk - something I will never forget. Thank you for making us feel welcome, we had a fabulous 4 day stay and will recommend it.

A very tranquil, quiet site. If you just want to sit and put your feet up, chill and relax then this is the place to come. Very clean site, not too big, very friendly owner and dog friendly with lovely walk just across the road.

With over 30 acres of gardens and hundreds of acres of woodlands to explore, it's easy to see why these perfectly manicured grounds are the sponsors of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The Newt is also home to a fantastic farm shop, restaurants and cafes, as well as running garden tours and courses throughout the year. The most recent addition to the estate is a reproduction Roman Villa and museum, which invites you to see the way the Romans lived through virtual reality. The annual membership allows entry as many times as you would like during the year, as well as discounted rates for friends.

Five star food Somerset.jpg

One of the most celebrated restaurants in the South West is just on our doorstep. Nearby Osip was awarded a Michelin star in 2021 and is situated in nearby Bruton. Their field to fork meals consist of seasonal menus of six or nine courses. We recommend booking quickly, as their small restaurant is the hottest ticket in town and sells out far in advance.

Fortunately, Osip's sister restaurant, The Old Pharmacy, is next door to the main restaurant and also features exceptional seasonal food, with a less competitive booking system. We'd also recommend Roth Bar and Grill in Bruton for great food.

Art gallery Bruton Somerset accommodation.jpg

Swiss art gallerists Hauser and Wirth have opened some of the top galleries in the world, from Zurich to New York and have displayed some of the most expensive and famous artwork of all time. We're very fortunate to be home to Hauser and Wirth Somerset at nearby Bruton (7 miles), which was opened in 2014 and has seen incredible exhibitions from Louise Bourgeois and Henry Moore. The gallery is free to visit, with one of Somerset's most beautiful gardens designed by Piet Oudolf, one of the best-known garden designers in the world who has designed gardens for the Serpentine Gallery and the New York City Highline.
