With Spring in full swing by April, we'd love to welcome you to Long Hazel Park for a touring caravan or motorhome break. We have fully serviced hardstanding pitches available for touring caravans and motorhomes. Our shower block is heated and we're in a great location for lovely warm village inns; high quality farm to fork restaurants and fantastic walks across Somerset and Dorset. With an early Easter spanning 3 - 6 April, there's even more reason to get out and explore Somerset with longer, brighter days:

Frome flea market and craft fair is on Sunday 12 April with antique, vintage and retro wares. There will also be local artists and crafters on over 100 stalls.

The Frome flea market also has a classic car meet from 9am on the Sunday. With the event on until 3pm, there's lots to see and do for everyone!
​
Further events will be held on 10 May; 14 June; 12 July; 9 August and 11 October.


Enjoy the Yeovil Beer and Cider Festival on 24 and 25 April. Returning for a third year, the beer and cider festival is an unmissable celebration of fantastic drinks, live music, and community spirit.
​
The event is also showcasing the best of local ales, ciders, IPAs and stouts, with some great local food to enjoy beside it too.
​
The festival is held at Westlands Entertainment Venue, Yeovil.
There's two horse racing events this March at the Wincanton Racecourse. As one of the Jockey Club racecourses, you will be guaranteed a great day out with track-side views. Experience some of the best young horses trained by local trainer, Paul Nicholls. We're the nearest five star caravan park to the Wincanton racecourse.

Visit the Royal Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet to celebrate all things Land Rover! On 25 and 26 April, the Land Rover festival will include bespoke parts and accessories, builds and restoration.
There is even an Off-Road course where you can drive your own Land Rover, with several levels of difficulty for all levels of driver. Dogs are also welcome to attend!
For sports fans, there's some great events in Somerset this April. We're situated just half a mile away from Haynes Motor Museum, with regular buses to Yeovil and Shepton Mallet, which you can catch from Sparkford High Street.

Go for a vintage train ride and enjoy afternoon tea with a view of the Mendips. The Mendip Belle will depart from Cranmore Station on 12 April and 25 April, with a locally sourced Somerset cream tea to be served on the Dining Carriage.

The East Somerset Railway is situated near Shepton Mallet and has been running with vintage trains for over 180 years.


There are some fantastic events at The Newt, near Castle Cary, this April. The Newt are home to 300 acres of formal gardens, woodland and farmland and are famously sponsors of the Royal Chelsea Flower Show. Whilst courses will need to be booked in advance, you can also access their gardens using an RHS Membership for free on Tuesdays, or many of our guests purchase an annual garden membership and re-visit all year.

Join in with Glastonbury Abbey's Medieval Fayre on 25 and 26 April. The abbey will be hosting their flagship event, which utilises the 36 acre grounds to join in on all things ancient!

You'll find live jousting displays, market stalls, medieval themed food from local vendors and have-a-go activities to join in with.

The eagerly awaited Vintage Bazaar fair is set to enchant shoppers and collectors alike on Saturday, April 25th, at The Cheese and Grain venue in Frome, Somerset. Nestled in the heart of this charming town, the fair will be open from 9 am to 2 pm, inviting visitors to explore a treasure trove of unique finds and timeless pieces.
​
The event is well known for bringing together some of the very best dealers and collectors of French brocante, decorative antiques and vintage fashion/textiles so whether you are a maker, a designer or just someone who appreciates beautiful things this event is definitely one to put in the diary.
Spend a day out at one of our 15 most local National Trust gardens, houses and places of interest. With so many National Trust members visiting us for the famous sights of Stourhead gardens and the country's longest "long gallery" at Montacute, run by the National Portrait Gallery, we'd also recommend many other days out to make the most of your membership.

With Glastonbury Tor just a short drive away, we'd recommend climbing up for views across Somerset. Lytes Cary Manor is another popular NT house, and our nearest at just 5 miles away. The Grade 1 listed gardens and house of Tintinhull with a traditional arts and craft style garden. The Priest's House at Muchelney near Langport is a medieval hall dating from 1308 with connections to local author Thomas Hardy.


With Somerset regularly featuring in the major newspapers and travel magazines as a top destination for food and drink, there's more restaurants than ever to enjoy this spring.

Enjoy locally grown food from local farms, with warmer weather in Spring enabling outdoor eating once again! You'll also find lots of great farm shops nearby, including one within a mile of our caravan park, which also accepts dogs in their cafe area.

Enjoy a challenging walk around one of the most undiscovered parts of Somerset and take in some of the West Country's most important history. Nearby Cadbury Hillfort is known to be the gateway to the South West and is thought to have been occupied by King Arthur in 470-580 BC.
