Our shower block is winter heated and we're in a great location for lovely warm village inns; high quality farm to fork restaurants and fantastic walks across Somerset and Dorset.

Visit England's smallest city, Wells, for their fifth annual lantern festival on 15 January. This year's theme is the carnival of animals. Lanterns are made from willow frames and handbuilt using coloured tissue.

Enjoy a bracing walk around one of the most undiscovered parts of Somerset and take in some of the West Country's most important history. Nearby Cadbury Hillfort is known to be the gateway to the South West and is thought to have been occupied by King Arthur in 470-580 BC. Take a look at our history of Somerset and learn about the wonderful surroundings:

Be an audience member at a live podcast recording. Car experts Smith and Sniff are recording at Haynes Motor Museum on Saturday 19 January, starting at 11:00am. Tickets are £20 (+ Eventbrite Fee) each in support of Mission Motorsport and space is limited to just 200 seats so grab yours here before they sell out.
Jonny and Richard will chat cars and many other things for roughly an hour followed by an audience Q&A. Bring your full-suspension no-name mountain bike or obscure ‘80s car brochure to be signed, if you like.

Haynes Motor Museum is just half a mile away from us in Sparkford village.

Enjoy Wells Cathedral's new immersive experience on 28 January until 1 February. The cathedral will be transformed with a light show, entitled ‘Luxmuralis’, by sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Harper, who specialise in immersive fine art, light and sound installations around the UK and abroad.

The artwork asks visitors to look out into space and think about what humans have achieved in our place in the world, with the walls of the cathedral being turned in to a cosmic display.
