ADULT ONLY CARAVAN PARK WITH JULY AVAILABILITY

It's summer in Somerset and a wonderful time to get out and about to see the county. As an adult only touring and camping park, you won't have to worry about the school holidays getting in the way of your relaxing break. We have both standard and fully serviced hardstandings for your motorhome or caravan and lots of tent pitches available with availability for a short break, a weekend away in Somerset or a whole week to explore nearby!

The Swiss-owned Hauser & Wirth art gallery will be running a an exhibition dedicated to Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely from 17 May 2025 to 1 February 2026.

​

Visit the new Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely exhibition at nearby world-famous gallery, Hauser & Wirth in Bruton. In conjunction with the celebration of 100 years of Jean Tinguels' work, this is the first UK exhibition of the two emblematic artists together.

​​

The exhibition will cover large scale sculptures as well as unseen drawings and paintings. The gallery is free to visit and also houses a great restaurant, gardens and farm shop.

See our local National Trust properties in full bloom and brilliant sunshine! We're situated within a short distance of many properties in Somerset, as well as just over the borders in Dorset and Wiltshire.

Our National Trust page has ideas for 15 nearby days out, with gardens and outdoor monuments with wonderful views taking prime position on our list for summer adventures. Our nearest property is just 5 miles away, near Somerton, and some are so close they can even be completed in one day.

After this Spring's excitement of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, it's a great time to visit their sponsor garden, The Newt in Somerset.

​

The Newt built a garden of succulents from South Africa to show at this year's Chelsea Flower Show. Situated at the Georgian manor of Hadspen, The Newt falls between our nearby towns of Castle Cary and Bruton. You'll find hundreds of acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and woodland as well as a Roman villa to explore.

​

The Newt is situated in 30 acres of gardens and hundreds of acres of woodland and is perfect to explore in the summer sunshine, with events often held on site. Entry is free for RHS members on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The South West's largest Flea Market returns to Shepton Mallet on Sunday 6 July. A very popular event with our guests, the Royal Bath and West Showground hosts this enormous market, with over 250 indoor and outdoor stalls.

​

You will find furniture, garden statutory, art and retro gifts across the stalls. Alongside these, there's also food and drink and modern crafts and jewellery.

​

Enjoy historical-style days out at The Bishop's Palace and Gardens in Wells this July. There are plays being put on in open air in the gardens, where you're welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy during the performances.

The Bishop's Palace is an RHS partner garden with 14 acres of walled gardens and grade 1 listed buildings to explore. You will find two of the wells of Wells in the Palace's grounds.

Join Hauser & Wirth in Bruton for their Summer Fete! The Swiss-owned art gallery will be hosting a day of stalls from local businesses, live music and seasonal food and drink from their Farm Shop and Italian restaurant, Da Costa.

​

It's free to go, with the Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely exhibition at the gallery and Oudolf field gardens open all day.

​​

Spend a day out at one of our 15 most local National Trust gardens, houses and places of interest. With so many National Trust members visiting us for the famous sights of Stourhead gardens and the country's longest "long gallery" at Montacute, run by the National Portrait Gallery, we'd also recommend many other days out to make the most of your membership.

​

With Glastonbury Tor just a short drive away, we'd recommend climbing up for views across Somerset. Lytes Cary Manor is another popular NT house, and our nearest at just 5 miles away. The Grade 1 listed gardens and house of Tintinhull with a traditional arts and craft style garden. The Priest's House at Muchelney near Langport is a medieval hall dating from 1308 with connections to local author Thomas Hardy.

With Somerset regularly featuring in the major newspapers and travel magazines as a top destination for food and drink, there's more restaurants than ever to enjoy this spring.

​

Enjoy locally grown food from local farms, with warmer weather in Spring enabling outdoor eating once again! You'll also find lots of great farm shops nearby, including one within a mile of our caravan park, which also accepts dogs in their cafe area.

​

Take a look at our top tips for eating in Somerset:

Enjoy a truly unique experience of forest bathing, or "shirin yoku", the Japanese act of taking in your natural forest surroundings.

​

The course is held in the grounds of The Newt, near Castle Cary, with one of the spa's therapists and beginning at 8am before the crowds arrive. The day will consist of poetry readings and guided mindfulness, immersing you in to the healing woods.

​

The day will end with a meditation session and herbal tea, using herbs cut from The Newt's gardens. Held on 6, 13 and 27 July.

As a Premier Parks top site, and a VisitEngland 5 star Touring and Camping Park and a Practical Caravan Top 100 site, we're also a past winner of the Gold Award winner of the South West Tourism Awards Best Camping and Caravanning Park in the South West region.

We are open all year, with room for up to 26 touring units and 20 tents.

Enjoy a challenging walk around one of the most undiscovered parts of Somerset and take in some of the West Country's most important history. Nearby Cadbury Hillfort is known to be the gateway to the South West and is thought to have been occupied by King Arthur in 470-580 BC.
