Enjoy an August break in Somerset at our adult only caravan park and campsite. Our five star Visit England rated touring park is an ideal place to holiday in the summer - you have to worry about the school holidays getting in the way of your relaxing break! We have both standard and fully serviced hardstandings for your motorhome or caravan and lots of tent pitches available with availability for a short break, a weekend away in Somerset or a whole week to explore nearby!
Book in for a caravan or camping break for the August Bank Holiday. This year's August Bank Holiday weekend falls from Friday 22 to Monday 25 August and our final pitches are up on our online booking system. Nab one of our last fully serviced hardstandings or book yourself in for a luxury holiday lodge stay!
Customer favourite the Giant Flea Market at The Royal Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet returns on Sunday 17 August. The largest flea market in the West Country, the Shepton Mallet event has great finds across homeware, furniture and gardens, as well as retro goods.

There's over 250 indoor and outdoor stalls to explore at the giant flea market and Shepton Mallet is on our direct bus route from Sparkford High Street to the Bath and West Showground.


Visit the new Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely exhibition at nearby world-famous gallery, Hauser & Wirth in Bruton.
The exhibition covers moving sculptures and drawings from the duo, showcasing the three decade-long partnership between the artists. With groundbreaking permanent displays in Paris and Tuscany, we are very fortunate to now have access to these works until January 2026.
The gallery is free to visit and also houses a great restaurant, gardens designed by Piet Oudolf and farm shop.

The annual Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza is held on Saturday 9 August this year. The headline act is British band The Script are known for their UK number 1 album, with songs including The Man Who Can't Be Moved. The concert takes place in amongst the abbey site, with fireworks held as a finale.

Local act The Shepton Mallet Big Band will be supporting, with more guests due to be announced nearer to the time. Tickets are available from the Glastonbury Abbey website.

Later in the month sees the Glastonbury Night at the Abbey featuring headliner Newton Faulkner on Saturday 24 August.
For car enthusiasts, there is another Frome Flea Market and Car Meet on Sunday 10 August which housed over 100 vehicles last year. Classic vehicles gain free entry to the event.

Closer to home, Sunday 3 August will play host to a British car meet at Haynes Motor Museum. At just half a mile away, we are the nearest touring park and campsite to Haynes in Sparkford. Our top tip is to purchase their passport ticket which allows you access to the museum and exhibitions for 12 months. Even better, you'll save 10% if you book your tickets online before going to the museum.

Spend your free time on a golfing break, with lots of great golf courses nearby in Somerset and Dorset.
We have three excellent golf courses very close by;
Wheathill golf course at Lydford-on-Fosse (6 miles) offering a challenge to golfers of all abilities

Long Sutton golf course on the Somerset levels (10 miles) a challenging course and one of the best in the local area

Yeovil golf course (8 miles) a championship standard 18 hole parkland course set in beautiful surroundings.

Our lodges are ideal for cross-generational groups and two of our holiday lodges are suitable for wheelchair users, making it easy to spend time with friends or family with additional access requirements.

We can accommodate 14 adults across our holiday lodges for hire, and they're just a stone's throw from our caravan and camping pitches.


We've been featured in Campervan Magazine as their "must visit site" during a visit to Glastonbury. With lots of outdoor activities and walks, the summer is an ideal time to visit this area of the Mendips.

The Castle Cary Vintage Market returns on Saturday 2 August. With vintage and retro items, you'll find a range of sellers with antiques, memorabilia, ephemera, gardenalia, vintage clothes and accessories, antique rugs, musical instruments, watches, jewellery and other collectibles.

Castle Cary is well worth a visit, with lots of independent shops, a very good bakery and an excellent fish and chip shop. The town has a lot of historical buildings and is on the Macmillan Way and the Monarch's Way, two notable long-trail walks with fantastic views of Somerset.


Spend a day out at one of our 15 most local National Trust gardens, houses and places of interest. With so many National Trust members visiting us for the famous sights of Stourhead gardens and the country's longest "long gallery" at Montacute, run by the National Portrait Gallery, we'd also recommend many other days out to make the most of your membership.

With Glastonbury Tor just a short drive away, we'd recommend climbing up for views across Somerset. Lytes Cary Manor is another popular NT house, and our nearest at just 5 miles away. The Grade 1 listed gardens and house of Tintinhull with a traditional arts and craft style garden. The Priest's House at Muchelney near Langport is a medieval hall dating from 1308 with connections to local author Thomas Hardy.
With Somerset regularly featuring in the major newspapers and travel magazines as a top destination for food and drink, there's more restaurants than ever to enjoy this spring.

Enjoy locally grown food from local farms, with warmer weather in Spring enabling outdoor eating once again! You'll also find lots of great farm shops nearby, including one within a mile of our caravan park, which also accepts dogs in their cafe area.

Enjoy a challenging walk around one of the most undiscovered parts of Somerset and take in some of the West Country's most important history. Nearby Cadbury Hillfort is known to be the gateway to the South West and is thought to have been occupied by King Arthur in 470-580 BC.
